SUMMARY:A Write at the Museum
DESCRIPTION:Do exhibits come to life at Frome Heritage Museum after dark? \nThey do in this stimulating workshop that explores how objects from the past can revive your writing\, add depth to characters and push a plot forward. \nEvery object has a story to tell. A variety of prompts and exercises will encourage you to open up your senses to create new stories for the historic objects that spark your imagination. We will also look at ways that fiction writers\, poets\, and memoirists use objects as building blocks in their work ~ whether as a functional prop\, for emotional significance\, or to add deeper\, symbolic meaning. \nMeet at The Write Place and return there to write after our special after-hours visit to Frome Heritage Museum.  Besides your laptop\, bring notebooks\, pencils for drawing (don’t panic!) and a small object that holds special meaning for you. Stop for tea at 9pm and the opportunity to share any work you may like to. \n \nAbout Kate: \nKate McEwan is a former copywriter and journalist\, with an MA in Creative Writing. She is the author of EALING  WALKABOUT\, an historical guidebook\, and recently retired from running The Write Place to complete her first novel. \n  \n
